Hello again Myles. Funny stuff. Hey I wanted to ask you about some of the guitar sounds on Nature of the Beast, especially your lead tone on Crash and Burn. That literally sounds like it is on fire and always wondered what guitar/amp combo you used on that. The solos on that song are still some of my favorites you did. There is some wah in there I think. They are fiery and kind of quick.

WE all used Marshall amps recording the Nature of the Beast. I honestly can`t remember what guitar I used on C n B but it was a Gibson for sure and probably my Artisan or one of my les Pauls. I still use both in the studio. Thanks!

Sorry to keep bothering you Myles but was it guitar straight in to the amp, or was there some overdrive pedals used as well. That sound is so very special and have never heard anything like it anywhere else.

Can`t say for sure, but my Marshall was customized back in the mid 70`s and the o.d./crunch is all natural old Marshall tube distortion so I think that`s what your hearing. It was also through a wah wah as you can clearly hear in the soloing.

Going with my bro, who last went with me to see you guys in 1984 on the “One for the Road” Tour. I owe him for getting me into AW in the first place in the 70s. I have been several times since, but he has not. Needless to say, we are glad that turned out not to be your last tour…Cheers Myles.
