smile…

lol yea, well i`m getting no pleasure from this..i thought i would but nah. i worked hard on getting our “official” site and fb page up from about 800 members last year to what it is now but i found i was annoyed by the restrictions. the  limitations and manipulation with that format. But i`m tired  and i have little interest in beating this pony into the ground so i think this is it for me at this point. Blog and fb, humbug. haha it was more fun being the “silent” Winer for all the years! Ha!

i`ll speak to admin and have this site humanly down..thanks to you that dropped by and the few that asked a question from time to time. thanks to kim for being a good sport…

I’m laughing here…..I’ve had a blog for three years, and since I don’t advertise it (not even to my friends and family) I have very little idea if anyone reads it or even cares.

What the hell, I have fun doing it, and that’s what counts!

I just found this site and I see its already going to go away. Im old enough that I just figured out there was my kind of music on you tube and absolutely fell in love with Myles Goodwyn. I have watched your interviews and watched you sing “Just Between you and Me” over and over. You are wonderful, I love your voice, I like the way you move when your singing. Sorry I didn’t get to see all this when I was younger. You are so gifted, I will continue to enjoy this and wish wish wish I could have ran into you when I was 17.

I was surprised that you were doing this stuff in the first place.
But, I really enjoyed it. However, I thought to myself a few times, you should stop wasting time on the fucking internet and write that book or record some music.
    Your the best !

    Cheers

I don’t think the average person is use to being able to actually correspond with someone they have always thought of as a legend. For myself that would be 30+ years. I’ve listened to you guys since my early teens, through 14 year in the Marines and still rocking out like a 50 year old teenager. Your music helped me get through the effects of combat, addiction to sobriety, being able to fall in love again after a divorce and all other life changing experiences we all are faced with. Most importantly you’ve brought so much fucking joy to myself and thousands upon thousands of people. This might sound hokey but your like a Santa Clause for us adults who are still able to find great gifts under the tree. As kids we wrote to Santa but did we ever get a reply? Nope. With you that’s a big “yes”. That just doesn’t happen everyday. Again, I guess we’re not use to that. Your openness and generosity to your fans is second to none. Please don’t take take this the wrong way but being able to become so close to one’s idol can be somewhat intimidating. Heck, I’m finally going to be able to see you in Nevada and the wife says I’m acting like a little bitch going to a Bieber concert. I don’t give a flying rats ass, your music makes me happy. It makes us happy. Take Good Care & Rock On!

Social Media is a trainwreck as much as it opens up the world to communicate. I can see where doing a blog would feel like pulling teeth. It was wonderful to hear from Brian on the old message board and you with the blog so it will be sorely missed but understood.

I remain enthused (hopeful?) about the potential of future music (blues project, vile series) and future shows. For me, I have enjoyed the most recent albums from Attitude onwards as amongst the most creative stuff you guys have done, and hope that the AW site itself will remain as a place to check in to see what’s happening with April Wine- All the best.

PS Nice Hagstrom Goya (blue sparkle top one) is available in Victoria- absolutely mint condition.

Say hi to my cousin in Lloyd tonight. She’ll be the one acting like the whole world’s gone crazy up front :>

Mark I copied this; Goya instruments were originally produced in Sweden by the Levin Company that has been making guitars since the 1900’s. Distributed by Hershman Musical Instruments Company of New York. Later Goya instruments were built in Korea from the early 1970’s to 1996, and were distributed by the Martin Guitar Company, located in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. The Goya trademark was originally used by the Hershman Musical Instrument Company of New York City, New York in the 1950’s on models built by Sweden’s Levin Company (similiar models were sold in Europe under the company’s Levin trademark). Levin built high quality acoustic flattop, classical, and archtop guitars as well as mandolins. A large number of rebranded Goya instruments were imported to the U.S. market. As a side note – Anders Wasén of Gothenburg, Sweden (where Levin/Goya was made) provides this additional information: H.C. Levin was from Sweden and as I was told worked in the United States as a trainee at the Martin Guitar Company. So did his son just before World War I (as he told me himself). H.C. went back to Sweden and formed the Levin Guitar company (Goya in the US).

Great while it lasted Myles!!. Thanks for sharing a bit of your life with us. Like others who have posted I am a fan from way back – since the Electric Jewels days as a young boy in Dartmouth (not realizing at the time you were a `local`). Keep on rockin` and look forward to your next date on Vancouver Island.
