This inexpensive guitar is versatile and capable of a variety of sounds. I have a Gibson N.H. as well and I think I prefer the Epi even more than the U.S. Gibson..but in my opinion, both are great guitars and worth every penny.

I think this is the first time I’ve heard a pro endorse an Epiphone. Do you have an opinion on the Squier “strats” or the Strats made in Mexico?

I have several epis, great guitars if you get the right ones. AVOID those made in China.

Dave…squiers are shit….save your money. Mexican strats and tele’s are good if you find a player…and they cost less!
John Lennon and George Harrison played and epi…as well as that burning lead guitarist “The Edge”

I like Mex strats…cool colors and great finishes. Forget Squires. the Jap strats are also nice but more $$$

This Nighthawk is simply an amazing guitar. It’s playability and tone….amazing.
Just goes to prove that there are some excellent Epiphones out there, you just need to find the right ones. As Myles said….stay away from ones made in China.

Great guitars, Epiphones. Vintage Epis are quite expensive. The Epiphone Sheraton is a wonderful guitar and the ones made in Korea are affordable, cost about $600 and worth every penny. I have one circa 1992 that I really, really like…I`ll post a pic of it soon.

I wasn’t considering a Squier, but after reading what Myles said about the Epi I wanted to know…..but was more curious as to what he thought of the Mexican Strats. I have an 87 Strat and if I pick up another guitar it’ll be a Tele.
