Nighthawks aren`t that old I don`t think (early 90`s?) shouldn`t be that hard too find..I see them here in Canada on kijiji.

I just checked on Ebay and although there is an early(83) Strings and Things for sale and other older models, they are not the original. The originals used only stock Fender necks and headstocks. Later models like the 1983 shown, they had their own neck introduced after Fender threatened to sue a year or so after the first models came out, (like mine, and like Clapton`s) were made. I got mine in Memphis at the “factory” in 1981 and watched as it was hand “assembled” by the parts that I personally choose. A picture of my guitar was used in their original brochure. I will post pics of the brochure when I have the time to photocopy etc.

That would have been really cool to go through that factory and pick the parts……really neat guitars! Tom Keckler of course went on to open St. Blues guitars in Memphis…Not the same quality but a good guitar for the price. Myles and Brian…you should hit those guys up for a free guitar!

I got a couple of St. Blues free-bees. Guess I should post pics of them too!

Brian is pretty much a Fender or Gibson guy, that`s about it really.

Hey Myles,I use D”Adarrio exl 110 strings on my strat,do you prefer light or heavy gauge strings?
July 16, 2013 at 9:39 pm
my standard gauge live is 10 to 46. i will go up or down depending on the situation but then only in the studio really. heavier string are more solid for rhythm parts, so i find for all-round sound and feel, the 10/46 works for me…on fender and gibson both.
