Hello Myles from Lloydminster. I’m a very long time fan but first time on this blog. My first exposure to AW was about at the age of 9 and came from my older sister who had Harder Faster and NOTB albums. I was instantly fascinated and from there starting collecting ALL the albums. I even joined the AW fan club and still have the card. I was member #0206. I didn’t listen to anything for years other than AW. Having this blog would have been incredible back in the day. If I’m correct you’ve been in Lloyd three times and I’ve seen you twice. First time was at a local club called Amigo’s and I remember it was very loud but very good and I saw you guys out in the parking lot after heading for the bus. I called out ‘hi’ but for some reason clammed up and always wondered why I couldn’t put two words together upon seeing my childhood heroes in person. Anyway the second time was at the fair here on the outdoor stage and I was fairly close to the stage. I always wondered what were and are some of your inspirations as a guitarist. Did you like Hendrix? You guys were very popular around the time guys like Eddie Van Halen were emerging and I noticed on some of your early 80’s stuff you did a bit of tapping. Did you get that from Eddie? Also what do you think of some of the rock guitarists that emerged around the same time that hugely influenced the instrument like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, etc Do you dig any of those guys? Do you like any modern heavy metal like Dream Theater or Symphony X? Anyway thanks for the chance to be heard and hope to hear from you soon.
