How many different versions of the studio recording of this song are there?
If you're reading this it's likely you've spent many sleepless nights pondering that exact question.

Well, ponder no more!
I did a little research and here's the long and the short of it (note the clever word play)...

As far as I can tell there are 4 different versions:

Version #1 - The single (45 rpm) version runs 3:28.

• That run time appears to be consistent across all releases of that single.

Version #2 - The version on the "Harder...Faster" LP/CD runs 4:19.

• If you're in Germany your LP probably says 4:21, but I defy anyone to find two seconds worth of extra music on the German LP.
• If you're in the UK you'll need a stop watch because your LP doesn't list a run time.
• If you're in Canada and your LP or CD says 4:43, it's a lie. It's 4:19. Same goes for the Holland LP.

Version #3 - There is an undocumented extended version that runs 4:30.

• BEST OF APRIL WINE (Aquarius Q2 00614)

Version #4 - There is a fourth version that runs 3:45.

• This version only exists on an ACETATE. It appears to be an unreleased alternate single version that includes the guitar fade-in like the LP version, while the commercially released single version just jumps right in there. I checked the timing and the fade-in seems to account for the additional 17 seconds.
