He did such a good job with NOTB, I always wondered how things were allowed to slide with PP. E is E was a great one to start with but there was no power ballad to release as a second single.
I liked PP....havent' heard it years. Waiting on a Miracle is one of my fav aw songs.

I pulled this off another thread. This could be the secret to that awesome sound AW has.......I'm also guessing Queen did the same in studio.........
I always mike the amps. Even in the studio. Sometimes I'll use 3 mikes. One on the amp, one 6 feet away and one in the back of the room. Mixed all together they sound interesting with the various room sound included with the "On-Grill" mic. Mike Stone used that a lot with us.
That's what we did.
Wonder if the 3 mike trick was created by Mike Stone or is this technique has been around forever?

I seem to recall Myles saying in an interview that he didn't want PP to be thought of as "Son of the Beast". I think he said in the interview that the band had a great time recording that album.

Brian....can you chime in and let us know a little about recording the PP album?

I agree with BL - would be nice to hear more about this album. Perhaps I am in the minority, but it is one of my favorite AW albums. I think the sound is really good (guitar, bass and drums). The album may not have been as consistently strong as say Harder...Faster or NOTB, but it sounds different from those albums and the songwriting was still very strong - it was made at a time when artists still valued diversity and strived to evolve from album-to-album, which I think is missing today. I think it is ok that this album was not a remake of the previous 2.
I have very fond memories driving to Whistler to go skiing with my brother with PowerPlay cranking.
